8/30/23
If I had three lives I would get married in two of them.
In one of them, I think
I would eat five dried figs a day instead of 2.
I would water my plants an hour before I usually do.
I would understand protracted metaphors a little better.
I would reserve Saturday for small joys.
I would vacation in Maine and wear a straw sunhat that ties around my chin.
I would realize there's so little time between limbs.
I would find apricots a little sweeter.
I would think a little harder about how the inherent nature of a bee colony is completely based on free labor.
I would enjoy the temptations of spring.
I would wonder how I'd look as a tree.
Maybe I would pray.
